Benefits of using technology in teaching and learning

As we entered the 21st century, technology in the classroom is becoming more predominant. Tablets replacing the textbooks unlike before. Social media has become commonplace , the way we use technology has completely changed the way we live our lives.
The adoption of technology has the greater impact on learning and teaching. Teachers are learning how to teach with the emerging of technologies while students are using advanced technology to shape how they learn. Technology in the classroom makes learning more fun. If subjects or topics seems boring and challenging, they can always use the virtual lesson, videos and youtube whereby the learning becomes interesting.

One of the benefits could be, improve retention power. Student’s perceptions in the study believe that technology helps them retain information better. Example, if we are going to teach about the domestic animals to class pp. children, we normally teach them by showing pictures and then describing little about those particular animals. After while the child will forget everything and learning and teaching become useless. In order to have worth full learning, we can always grab on technologies, where we can make use of powerpoint and then insert animations which will make the learning interesting. This child will remember the lesson.


Using of ICT has greater benefits for the teachers. There are countless online resources and technology where it can improve teaching. Teachers can use different apps or trusted online resources to enhance the traditional way of teaching and keep students more engaged. Virtual lesson plans and online assessments can help the teacher to save time. This valuable time can be used for those who are struggling.
